Clarification?

July 16, 2010 10:42 pm

Still waiting to hear on the tie-breaker procedure for this new Pool Play system in order to accurately keep up to date standings and seeds for PP2 since god knows how long it will take if we leave it up to some people. Also, BMU on my account has 2 missed votes already and by my understanding of the rules has a point deduction facing him his first game, unless the rules changed.

So whenever that can be clarified for me how we're breaking ties among 10 teams in the lower group, that would be great.

Clarification?

Good question.

Firstly, yes, all missed votes will continue to accrue deductions at the same rate as in PP1, with everyone starting off with a clean slate, as per the rules.

Secondly, tiebreaking in the group of 10 will be:

1. Head to head, if magically applicable and between jjust two parties.
2. Ratio of points for vs. points against, with the removal of any deductions FOR YOUR OPPONENT. (Say, for instance, I beat 3G next week 20 to -4. 3G racks up 4 points of penalties by posting some hateful vibes. My final score is 20 to 0. 3G's final score is -4 to 22. That way you are punished for deductions, but you are not rewarded for your opponents getting deductions).

Ratio is calculated (points scored/(points scored+points allowed, or total points if you will)), for the record.

So the standings should look something like this right now.

Group of 4:

WCF 1-0   21.75     0.5    98%

Joe 0-0

BMu 0-0

BNW 0-1   9.5    13.5   41%

Group of 10:

3G 1-0    13.5    95    59%

others.....

McG 0-1   0.5     21.75   2%
